HB 1541 is a bill that will DISAGGREGATE DATA meaning our K-12 schools will need to move beyond the 6 census categories so that our specific identities are given value & will also allow for different multi-ethnic/racial students to be counted. The bill will also reduce suspensions & expulsions, require cultural competence training for all educators, provide greater ELL accountability, and more to close the educational opportunity gap.
